Happy 8th Birthday Balancians!

Another year in the books and another post!
The past year has been a dramatic one in terms of major events.
For those who still tune in from time to time, wondering what Balance is up to nowadays. Balance stopped 25 man raiding and went down to 10 man veteran runs still on Grim Batol. So if anyone out there old wants to rejoin on some action you are always more then welcome to join us.

And as the previous post said, Balance is still recruiting for the 10 man runs. Check out the recruitment post for more info.

With that said I wish everyone old or new Balancians a happy birthday and to all friends that followed us for so long thank you for tuning in!

Our current requirements can be seen on the class selections on the left of this page, or in detail on our forums but we are currently most in need of a new mage and a boomkin with resto offspec. It goes without saying that if you feel you are an exceptional player and your class is not currently listed as sought after by us, we will still consider the application.

Today, I come before you all with sad tidings.

I regret to inform you all that Lan aka Fredrik is no longer with us anymore.
He was found at peace at his country side cabbin on december the 23th.

Words can not express how we feel as a collective, nor can anything we say give comfort to his loved ones in this hour of sadness. As I was tasked, or took it upon me to write this post in his honor, I've done so knowingly, that I may never be able to fully express what this great guy, Mr Fredrik Johansson, meant to me or this guild as a whole.

Gather arround, and let me tell you his story, because it's going to be LANgendery.

Lan was one of the first members of Balance and can also be credited as one of the founding "fathers" of the guild. His heart always lied with his holy warrior, the paladin, a beacon of light much like he was in Balance himself. He always gave his best, and when others failed or felt that they had been doing something wrong, Lan was always there to push them with his positivsm and vigor. During the 8 years, that I got to know him, I never heard anyone in the guild or outside the guild even, that had anything remotely negative to say about him, because he was always the opposite of that, glad, humorous and above all, friendfull and loyal.



And as a true testament to his loyalty and his continued support of this guild, Lan became our site admin, always pursuing new upgrades and keeping this site in top mint condition. Even we the guild and the site became target for hackers and other malicious activites, Lan was always there with a bubble arround it, protecting it, making this site to never go offline.

Lan also spent countless of hours, through the years, making this guild smile and laugh by honoring us with awesome photoshopped pictures of guild members, calling it "Balance goes to Hollywood (Or Lan is a sick dude)". This was to be one of the most appreciated things one could ever do for his guild, and my signature picture is yet proof of his tireless work that he did.

He was the guy, that no matter when you called or whenever you mailed with a problem, he would always be there to help out to the best of his ability. And when that wasn't enough he'd call in backup and make sure that the job always got done. He was the guy that anyone would have wanted as a friend, and it is my personal honor of being one of his friends. This guild will never be the same without you. This guild will never forgot you Lan-man! Will never forget all the things you've done!



So I sit here in tears, saying my good byes hoping that wherever you are, you're watching our backs in Balance.

Good bye my friend, may you rest in peace....

To quote Ralph Emerson, "A friend may well be reckoned the masterpiece of nature."
And that is exactly what Lan was to us in Balance, a masterpiece and a true LEGEND OF BALANCE!!!
